ABouT Ian Simmie

I am passionate about student success. Through my 30+ years’ experience in post-secondary student affairs at the University of Guelph, University of Toronto, McGill University and York University, I have learned the barriers and enablers of a positive post-secondary student experience. I have also heard from and worked with parents who are frustrated by a lack of understanding of the post-secondary landscape, and at a loss for how to effectively help their child succeed in transitioning from high school to college or university.

I am here to demystify the (complex and often opaque) post-secondary world for families, so that more students can thrive in college, university and beyond.
